Mangosteen is a tropical fruit native to Southeast Asia. It is rich in vitamins and antioxidants, such as vitamin C and folate. It provides xanthones — a unique type of plant compound known to have strong antioxidant properties. Xanthones has resulted in anti-inflammatory, anticancer, anti-aging, and antidiabetic effects.
The flavor of mangosteen is a delicious mix of lychee, peach, strawberry, and pineapple. If you have not tried it, I sure hope you will.
- 1.5 oz. AVIA Cachaça
- 1 oz. Rum (Backwards Distillery)
- 0.5 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
- 1.5 oz. Calpico Lychee
- Ginger Beer
- Fresh Mangosteen
In a cocktail shaker gently muddle fresh mangosteen. Add the first four ingredients and plenty of ice. Shake well. Double strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Add a splash of Ginger Beer. Garnish with a fresh mangosteen. Enjoy with the one you love!
